How to clear DNS cache?

I've set up unbound to resolve DNS queries.

How do I clear it's DNS cache?

TB0ne, thanks, I've already been on that link but missed the point because it seemed unrelated to my environment.

Then you need to again read that "Question Guidelines" link. Unless you actually tell us about your environment, what you've done/tried/read, we have no idea what to tell you past very basics.

Your question was about unbound and how to clear the cache. That link *SPECIFICALLY* tells you the command to run and why, with the first line of that page reading: "To fully clear the DNS Resolver cache, restart the unbound daemon:"

...where it then gives you the menu to access, and CLI entries to type in with explanations. Not sure how having commands related to flushing an unbound DNS cache don't relate to your question of how to clear the unbound DNS cache....

Exactly, the only thing I needed to share about my environment is that I'm using unbound Dns resolver, my question was very simple and to the point, and you answered my question correctly although difficult to verify due to lack of authoritative answer.

There is no need for me to read any guidelines on how to ask questions because I'm using forums and Q\A sites for a very long time and know very well that a lot of the time people fail to provide sufficient information about their problem.

My only mistake was that I misread the link due lack of authoritative answer.
So I turned to forums in hope someone will provide an authoritative answer, by "authoritative" I mean an answer that is either backed up by documentation or personal knowledge.

"Lack of authoritative answer"??? Not sure how much more you need than exact commands/menus. And you obviously need to read the guidelines, because (again) unless you TELL US what you've done/tried/researched, how exactly do you expect us to know??? Should we guess as to your setup, environment, etc.???

If you don't want to provide details when asked, there isn't much point in posting questions. If you want "personal knowledge", why do you feel it's ok for you to NOT provide things about your personal environment, but expect others to??

Problem is not me not giving additional information because this thread is answered and marked as solved if you didn't notice,
there is no need for any additional info and there is nothing else to discuss because it's solved.

what's the problem is you repeatedly saying to read "how to ask" guidelines without having a reason, I understand you're frustrated by noobs asking noobish questions but I suggest you to read some guidelines about online etiquette instead and you should learn that excessive use of things like capital letter words or ??? or excessive quotations is considered not polite or unfriendly.

You can't really tutor other people about "how to ask" if you're yourself not perfect.

I hope this helps and I'm out of this thread.

Helps with what??? Sorry, but you were directed to read those guidelines then specifically said you would NOT, because there was 'no need' as you claimed to have been asking such things for a long time. If you have been, you'd have already known to provide full details and specs, along with showing some effort of your own. Your first reply (post #3), seemed to indicate that you didn't get any use out of the link others had looked up for you and given to you, saying it seemed "unrelated to your environment".

Saying you won't read things, claim answers weren't 'authoritative' enough for you, then complain when you get pushback won't get you many answers in the future. Good luck.

You you have misunderstood my reply, please re-read my post #3, what I said is that I've already been on that link before asking here and found it not useful by mistake.
I did not say that your answer is not valid, in fact I found your answer useful because you made me re-read the link again and saw I missed the answer is there.
Otherwise I wouldn't mark this as solved.

And yes I did my part by reading documentation and googling, if you google out you'll notice beside this link there is barely anything else confirming how to clear unbound cache.

Yeah I already notice the atmosphere, it's why beside this thread I don't think I'll be making any more.

Perhaps change the way how you treat new members, not everybody is 15 years old noob.
