Forward Port via SSH to using an IPv6 Address

I have forwarded ports using IPv4.

ssh -L 443:10.32.226.34:8443 user@10.32.226.4

I tried doing this, but it failed.

ssh -L 443:fe80::ae1f:6bff:fe32:1541%eth1:8443 10.34.226.5
Bad local forwarding specification '443:fe80::ae1f:6bff:fe32:1541%eth1:8443'

I see that it can't distinguish the IPv6 address.
So far, I haven't found a Google search that provides a solution.

Anyone here know the answer?

Thanks,
Danny

Put the IPv6 address inside square brackets ([ ]).

Thanks, tried that.
No joy.

I don't think this is possible.
Thanks for the reply.

How recent a version of the SSH client do you have?
