DNS BIND Zone transfer fails from Master to Slave
Dear all
I have two dns bind9 server running on RHEL4. One has the master zone configured and the second server has a slave zone on it. The thing is that the slave zone is not updating although I have changed several records a couple of days ago.
I have webmin running on both servers the slave server states the following :
Last transferred : 3/May/2007 13:55 !!!!
The thing is that the log files of the slave server show the following :
Aug 28 12:29:59 ns2 named[10371]: dumping master file: /var/named/chroot/var/named/tmp-XXXXX1pCcy: open: file not found
Aug 28 12:29:59 ns2 named[10371]: transfer of 'mydomain.net/IN' from dns-server#53: failed while receiving responses: file not found
Aug 28 12:29:59 ns2 named[10371]: transfer of 'mydomain.net/IN' from dns-server#53: end of transfer
As for the master server ..this is the /etc/named.conf file
// Default named.conf generated by install of bind-9.2.4-16.EL4
options {
directory "/var/named";
dump-file "/var/named/data/cache_dump.db";
statistics-file "/var/named/data/named_stats.txt";
};
include "/etc/rndc.key";
zone "mydomain.net" {
type master;
file "/var/named/mydomain.net.hosts";
allow-transfer {
2nd-server-ip;
};
also-notify {
2nd-server-ip;
};
notify yes;
};
Any suggestions please ?
