Connecting Moblin to Clarconnect 5.0

I hope that switching forums won't bring the wrath of the mods down on me but my thread in "Mobile" is getting views but no answers. So here goes:-

Hi All.

I installed Modlin on my mini9 with out difficulty and with the help of an excellent "how to" got the wireless running but I still have an big out standing issue.

My home network includes the mini9 2 pc's a NAS (Buffalo Linkstation mini) and a file server running sabma over ClarkConnect 5.0. Both the PC running vista connect to the file server
without any problems but the mini9(moblin) can not see it although it can see and connect to the nas.

The username/password set in moblin (mini9) is correct and should let it connect to the server and as I’m not very familiar with linux I’m at a loss as to how to get it to connect.

I ran it on Netbook Remix for a while and that had the same problem and I never was able to get an answer

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Many Thanks Aamcle

What is mini9(moblin), and is it the same as moblin (mini9)?

Can you ping windows from mini9(moblin) or moblin (mini9)?

What do you use to connect?
What do they communicate through? switch?
What do server's logs tell you?

I can ping the server, ftp onto and off the serve and the pc's running windows can map a share on the server as a network drive, I'm using the server mainly as a nas. All of the PC's (2x vista + 1x Moblin) connect to the server via a wireless router.

I would like the moblin pc to be able to map a drive like th windows pc's.

Sadly I'm not sure what I'm supposed to look for in the servers logs.

Regards aamcle

Start ftp from console and initiate the connection to server. Post here output, without password of course.

Did you want FTP to work, or something else?

To map remote drive you probably need samba.
