Arrow Configuration of web based application in linux

Hello

Dear Friends

We are using one java based remote application known as tab from a company on MS windows.

To Run application what we don in windows:

1- We install Java Run time Environment
2- Then we copy java cache provided by company on local had drive and we set path of that cache folder in Java Run time Environment.

3- then we set following specified web address in Internet explorer
http://tabs.waridtel.com:7777/forms9...onfig=tabs2303

4- and some setting in windows hosts file which available in windows directory: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
Sample entries:
127.0.0.1 localhost
172.18.2.56 tabs.warl.com
172.18.2.72 topazas0.warl.com
172.18.2.91 topazas1.warel.com

Now i want to run that remote application in Linux for that i installed Mandriva Linux and installed Java Run time Environment, i also did setting in hosts file by Gnome graphical interface from
Configure your computer-> Network & internet -> mange Hosts definition.
And also set above company provided web application address in Mozilla but where i am stuck that i also copied cache folder on Linux machine but don’t know how to run Java Run time Environment and where to set that cache path.

Or may be The hosts file needs to be configure is not accurate Linux hosts file.

I hope any experience member will help for setting of that web base application in Linux, if any one want to help for any other flavor of Linux such as red hat then do it i can change Linux flavor.

Best Regards
