Can ping websites, can visit websites with ip address, cannot visit with Web address
HI, am new to linux, i have just setup a machine with FC5. I cannot use any web services (GAIM, Firefox etc)
I can ping domain names
I can ping ip addresses
I can go to an IP address in firefox
I cannot go to a web address in firefox
I don't know what to do or what info you need to help me get through this.
If anyone is willing to help, please tell me what you need to help me and what steps i need to take to get it for you!
First of all make sure you have a DNS server set, not use to FC but think DNS servers are set in /etc/resolv.conf .
See if you have a ip number there and if so test if you can ping it. Then we can take it from there
