I have been trying connect to apache server running in the linux, my web application developed in the php is in linux, so i want to test this application from windows , but i am not connecting this web application via
http://ipaddressortnumber .I got conection time out error.But i am sharing folders form linux installed system to windows.Please send any one know answer for this problem, it is very urgent.

I have tried a search on Google,but I am not getting any result. Can anyone help me to solve this? Please bear in mind that I am new to this and so would appreciate being told in plain English what I need to do or where I need to start

If apache is running and you can ping to your server, do you have an index.php/index.html? if not are you specifying the php file in the url like: http://ipaddressortnumber/file_name.php?
