building linux router equipped with firewall and acl management .. help
hey there....
it's my first question and I hope to find the answer here...
I am trying to do my graduation project, it's labeled under "linux secure router", and I should build a linux based router equipped with firewall and ACL management...
Some people advice me to use linux ubuntu distribution to do this I try to do that but I don't know where to start form ...
I need you help ...
No offense but if this is a graduation project, I would think your degree or education was computer related, very likely security, or network related, therefore I should expect you to have some idea of how to proceed. If you don't want to do the work yourself I doubt you will find anyone that is going to hold your hand through the process here, I would try searching for Linux firewall setup or Linux firewall ACLs. I am sure there are How-Tos and tutorials all over the Internet.
There are plenty of Linux/BSD/Solaris based distros already pre-made for this task. See Untangle.com and others and see all the appliances at VMware's virtual appliance web page.
