Adding a new NIC on CentOS 3.4

Well, I am adding a new Linksys NC100 Network Everywhere Fast Ethernet 10/100 Card to my Dell Poweredge SC420. I am running CentOS 3.4. I am running into problems when I need to supply the the MAC address for my card. After I installed the card in the server and started the server back up, as I expected it was not recognized or installed as eth1. However, according to my phpsysinfo stats page, stats.thelst.com, it is seeing the card and identifying it. So how do I go about finding the MAC address of the NIC? I am installing it though Webmin as of now, but I am fine using a shell if needed. Thanks in advance.

as root type

ifconfig eth1 up

ifconfig

You need to bring the device up to see stats on it through ifconfig. The MAC address will be listed in the ouput.
