Acer 1520 network problem ( newbie)

Hi guys,

I have a brand new Acer 1520 it has a RTL -8169 gigabit ethernet card.

Im installing SUSe 9.3 and it seems to recognise that card and load the drivers but it can get an IP address.

IFDOWN and UP make no difference

if config sees the card, but with 0 tx and 0 rx packets. ive turned the firewall off.

if i try to ping my router i get a the network is unreachable messgae.

all works perfectly under XP

TIA

martin
