Hi
I'm new to Android
HW Alcatel U3 with 16Gb SD card formatted as internal ...
To save space i moved all possible apps to sd card....
The most important APP i need on SD card is the Internet Browser ...I installed ICecat, but it can't be moved on SD ....
I'm searching internet about a list of APPs that can be installed on SD card, but i can't find ...
Thanks in advance for the support
Maurizio
Hi , thanks for the answer...
English is not my mother tonugue, so i miss to explain all the actions i done ....
I'm using Android Marshmallow
Sd card was formatted as internal, and i already installed some APP on SD card, one is Telegram.
This Alcatel U3 device is short of storage, so i buy the SD card ...
the app installed by the producer are not unistallable, i can only disable, (i immagine to uninstall i have to root the device, but i do not want to root)
now i disabled chrome, i install icecat, but it can't be moved on sd card....
I installed also other APP, and after installation i moved it to SD card ...
The problem is: No one of this APP specify if is installable or not to SD card, so i have to download every package, install and see where it goes, then if it shows the option move to sd card....it waste a lot of time
so i need a site that list APP , informing if they can be installed on SD ...
Thanks in advance
Maurizio
I do not believe that there is such a list. It depends on the phone more than on the apps. If the Alcatel instructions give no list, I don't know of any other place to look. But try using a search engine and see what you can find.
Hi ....
I read the answer....
sumarizing... now i need ONLY this info ....
is there a reliable Internet browser that can be installed on SD card ?
(i tried lightning ...it install on sd card, but it give me problem accessing a lot of sites)
Thanks to all for the support ....
Please stop right there.
It's only a question of time 'til the hackers pwn your phone.
Are you in Italy? You should be able to get a device witgh a supported OS very cheaply.
If you feel adventurous, install LineageOS. Have a look at the list of supported devices.
i was not aware of marshmallow vulnerabilty .....thanks for the info ...
It's not a "Marshmallow vulnerability" as such...
That Android version is simply long outdated, and superseded, and ALL security vulnerabilities that might exist are not going to be fixed anymore. That's the crux, really.
Yes, Marshmallow is very old, and past end of life. AFAIK it isn't even getting security updates any longer. Look on the xda-developers site and see if there is a newer ROM available for your phone, with a newer Android version.
