Review of Slackware64-current on EVOO Model EV-T2in1-101-2 10.1" tablet (Intel N4000 Celeron)

I bought this tablet new on ebay for $65 ($10 cheaper than Walmart at the time) a few months ago and have taken sorting it out as far as I can; so I thought I would publish my experience here for posterity. I believe walmart still sells these for cheap and they are high spec for the price.
I chose slackware64-current because I am old and don't want to learn systemd and therefore slackware is the only real linux option if I want to tinker.
This tablet ships with a limited version of Windows 10 that only installs software from one crippled microsoft repo. It comes with a stylus that makes it useful to graphic artists, but I have been unable to make the stylus work properly (with pressure sensitivity) in linux. So if you want to use it for art leave the existing Windows 10 intact or maybe try to upgrade to normal Windows 10. The i915 drm driver modesetting/glx acceleration doesn't work with this tablet either, so stick with windows if you want graphic intensive gaming. It has a normal capacitive (finger operated) touchscreen as well, and this works great with slackware.
What this tablet is useful for with slackware64 linux installed is web browsing, ereader, comic reader, and movie/music player.
The keyboard it comes with is nearly useless. It randomly misses about 1 in 5 keystrokes (in Windows too). It is not a dealbreaker as the microusb port on the tablet is powered and with the right cables and adapters all your usb goodies will function as expected. The OEM keyboard should be left behind ASAP.
Caveat: the bios has options that can leave the tablet unbootable (not even bootable to the bios menu). If you find yourself in this situation I can confirm that utterly discharging the main (and only) battery will revert you to default bios settings and let you boot again.
I provide no guarantee of any kind explicit or implied that following the below guide will not utterly destroy your tablet , lose your data, or render your data or device insecure and get your data stolen or device hacked.
Install guide for non-newbies: using your usb hub boot to latest slackware64-current install from usb pendrive. Use a keyboard/mouse attached through usb hub. Ream out mmc block device which is the tablets hard drive entirely and reformat with gpt type partition scheme. Install slackware64 (I left kde out to save space). Use elilo as boot loader and before rebooting create and configure initrd.gz with necessary modules to boot the mmc (huge.s can't boot this without initrd.gz) and use nomodeset kernel boot parameter in elilo.conf. Reboot. Create xorg.conf using fbdev device driver. Install xvkbd so you have a virtual keyboard. The onboard rtl8723bu wifi doesn't work with the slackware64-current vanilla 5.4.x kernel. It does work with a 5.6.x kernel. You can plug in a linux 5.4.x friendly usb network dongle and sideload the 5.6.x kernel or git rtl8723bu 5.4.x driver source and compile it (using either a usb pendrive or microsd card ;the tablet's microsd card reader does work).
I use the xfce4 desktop and followed a howto in a linuxquestions thread to make slackware boot directly to the desktop. I put a launcher on my desktop for xvkb. I tweak the xfce4 settings to eliminate double click actions, install FBReader and mcomix3 and everything works and I need no peripheral keyboard or mouse.
Xrandr doesn't work so switching from portrait to landscape is a pain. You need to reboot after doctoring both elilo.conf with a kernel parameter to rotate the framebuffer and simultaneously doctoring xorg.conf to rotate X. You have to reverese the steps simultaneously to switch back to portrait.
Switching to boot to desktop without login makes networkmanager problematic, but wicd works as expected.
Sound works. Network works.Capacitive touchscreen works. Desktop is pretty and responsive. No peripherals are required for normal use (but can use microsusb to attach them for special cases - like rescue maintenance).

It is a UEFI only bios so make sure your bootable usb has a uefi mode. You need to get into the bios settings and change a few things to get it to use the usb pendrive as the first boot device (instead of the eMMC). Try doing this with the usb pendrive plugged in. It is easier that way. You can see the bios menu detecting the device. Be very light handed changing bios settings - the wrong bios settings can make it almost a brick, and you would need to totally discharge the battery to revert to default bios settings to unbrick it.
On the hardware side. My usb port in the keyboard works. My keys on the keyboard miss a lot of strokes, so be careful of that.

Esc key during boot to boot to bios menu. It is blued out on keyboard, so you have to push Fsubn key at same time.
