Replace Android on Samsung GT N-8013 Tablet

Is there an open-source alternative to Android for use on a Samsung Tablet (GT N-8013)?

First of all, Android is (mostly) open-source.
So you need to specify what you want.
And please don't make me look up the specs of this machine. A link to some tech review might help.
Also, have you tried putting that question in a search engine?

First of all, Android is mostly under the control of Google. It is impossible to use without some Google application's influence. Since this is a Linux forum, I assumed (and that is probably the mistake I made) what I wanted would be understood to be a Linux solution. I stated that this is a Samsung Tablet...they're technically all the same, so its specs shouldn't be an issue. Finally, I put this out on DuckDuckGo and Google search engines. As expected, all responses pointed me to an Android upgrade. You know, this Samsung tablet is old and I was trying to revive some of its usefulness in the manner of old Windows laptops that I have loaded with Ubuntu in the past. The tablet isn't worth much, so I really don't have a problem donating it to Goodwill. This was just a last gasp before I did so.

What you are wanting is a ROM.

You'll need to see if there is one that supports your hardware

etc.

That's because the way these devices work means that they don't readily lend themselves to anything else. They're quite different to "old Windows laptops" and so you're between a rock and a hard place. You can't just wipe the OS off. As mentioned above, you will need to install a custom ROM.

You haven't mentioned how much time you want to put into it, but if you have tons of time you can download the Android source code and chop/"improve" it to your heart's content. You can remove all of the Google tie-ins. But beware that it's a rabbit hole. You may not resurface for a couple of years.

The easiest way would be to find a ROM which closest matches what you want and flash that onto it.
