random jazzy/drummy music plays on loop whenever i start a fone call


i have an essential running this:

Linux localhost 4.4.21-lineage+ #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Nov 14 13:44:18 CST 2017 armv8l GNU/Linux
whenever i start a tele-fone call, random music plays on the fone forever (until i restart the device) ?

it seems to have magically stopped.

is that lineageos? on a phone? which model? which lineageos version?
i've been having problems with phone calls, too. random feedback (not music though).

^ strange, i thought LineageOS is quite good with continuing (security) updates.
why not yours?

they dont officially support essential due to something called a and b partitions, so this is an unofficial build. the update notification fails when i click on it.

so today i am getting a slow piano loop when a call completes.

i don't know what essesntial is.
mine is lineageos 15.1 oneplus3, based on android 8.1.0, and the latest android security upgrade is from february 5th (this year). the latest lineageos upgrade was the day before yesterday.
also my issue isn't exactly the same...

can you recognize where the music is coming from?
is it music stored on your phone, or your fasvorite radio station?

i get this error while trying to update. i would have to uninstall and install the new version (and i'm lazy).

its not my music. it sounds like stock music for like a ring-tone or alarm (like elevator music or b-roll on the news).

ps or lsof doesnt give any hints as to whats being used.
