Pure Linux, or Android? There are dozens of Android tablets out there now, some of them are really nice (conversely, plenty are terrible), but I am not aware of any that run a pure Linux variant.

You could get an x86 tablet (choices will be limited) and install your own Linux, though getting everything working perfectly may prove to be a challenge.

There are a couple that run the linux OS....

Hold on got to dig my file of all the linux, windows, and android tablets that were released at 2011 CES... Well

actually there is only one at the show that was KNO, but this is a 14 inch tablet that is expense... The other I have seen is Dell's Tablet...

But the best info about new tablets is at mp4nation...

The top 10 tablets after about month of compiling data of over 200 tablets and growing fast....

Are

Comment: top 5 gadgets (I cant call them all tablets if you look up the Asus transformer and the Lenovo lepad you

will see why) are going to be very close and really comes down to what telephone you use to tether the

devices together... Really a data plan won't make much sense because you are going to have a smart phone 9 times

out of 10 anyways... It would be like pay twice for the same service...????

1. IPAD 1 or 2 ( Top spot for it has more full version software that runs on a 9.7 inch screen)

2. BlackBerry Playbook (ridiculously light, hard drive is a plus, super fast device and is to support android later this fall)

3. Asus Transformer ( Third in my review bit slow has multi touch issue) (Asus has overcloacked it to 1.4 ghz) (in the next quarter this tablet / notebook will become the top sale world wide once it hits the US)

4. Motorola Xoom (3g update to 4g soon) (Andriod Honeycomb 3.0 the first one) ( friend has it works like a charm)

5. Lenovo Lepad or Ideapad (Not really a tablet alone screen comes of with Android OS when mounted to the deck it becomes Windows 7 and is to be able to transfer files form on device directly to the other)

Comments: 6 and beyond have a mix of ereaders and tablets...

6. Samsung Galaxy (also a Andriod Honeycomb tablet) (already is available for service with phone company's)

7. LG Optimus (8.9 inch tablet great specs...) (video on CES 2011 shows it crisp and clean and fast) (was scheduled for Fall) ( Draw back is it to release with 720p out put to tv and record video at 720p) (roomer is it is now going to have 1080p out put)

8. E-reader Nook Color (Own it!!) (one of the sharpest resolutions out) (steal at 250) (Problem had to flash and install Honeycomb myself)

9. Acer Iconia tab e500 (Already released last week at targets) (comes with a phone data plan)

10. I can't give to just one tablet out of the European area. There are at least 10 or 20 tablets available in the European market that can compete in the global market and belong in the top 5 spots as well. The issue is most Americans want insistent satisfaction....

After playing with the Nook Color for the past 4 months I can say it really belongs in your car as a road map

device and car stereo... If some phone company gets smart and releases the touch screen jacket I seen 4 years ago the

tablet will go away make a small pouch on the inside of the jacket for the phone and the screen on outside of the

jacket and the tablet will go away... I'm really looking forward to touch screen windows on your car and a touch

screen wall at your house one day
