Android mobile - Duckduckgo as default browser

Hi guys!
I tried to set up Ddg browser in place of chrome. I have a Huawei P8-Lite.
I followed this path: settings - Apps and notifies - Default apps - Browser: Chrome or DDg - I choose Ddg.
After that i Clicked on a link in a Telegram chat, but it opens Chrome browser with ddg search engine.

Why??

I downloaded DDg browser on my mobile, but this is not what i want.

Could someone help me?

AFAIK, ddg don't do a browser. They do a search engine. Alternative browsers are chrome, palemoon (my favourite) Firefox, Opera, Orfox, and several lesser known ones. I worry that lesser browsers can't keep up, but firefox seems to have lost some of it's best programmers to palemoon.

because the default browser is opened when you "click" on the browser icon. But in any other app when you click on a link the associated app will be started, which is still the same chrome. You need to modify that association (something like "open with"). I'm afraid I cannot tell you exactly how....

The great thing about search engines, is that they can tell you things you don't know...

Second result at https://duckduckgo.com/?q=duckduckgo+browser

Is for the DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser at https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mobile.android

Yes It seems they do a mobile browser. I was thinking of PC based. It was said in Parliament here of a Government Minister;
