xPlayer Crashing in Linux Mint 18 new install
I'm not a newbee but sometimes I feel like one...specially after this.
I installed Mint 18 for a friend and everything seemed good until we tried to play a dvd with the new install. I used Totem previously so I naturally went to use the xplayer that replaces totem in Mint 18, but xplayer will flash on the screen and disappear or close. When run from a terminal window this is what I get:
(xplayer:8004): Gtk-WARNING **: Could not find signal handler 'continue_button_clicked_cb'. Did you compile with -rdynamic?

intel_do_flush_locked failed: Input/output error
Please tell me I don't have to recompile this just to make it work.
I also installed totem and running it from a terminal window I get this error before it also closes:

After these two failed I tried VLC, but VLC wouldn't work either. It would only play the audio and no video and only after I selected each of the video file and selected play.
I've made sure the following were the latest available: libdvdcss2, libdvdnav4 and libdvdread4. Also made sure of the region that the DVD player was set for with regionset by doing regionset /dev/sr0. Also I went as far as deleting the ~/.dvdcss/ folder. I've search with little success to find answers before posting this, but after a day of searching and scratching my head...I decided to post this and hope someone out there has something to suggest.
thanks...
