Switch user menu item Gnome 3 Linuxmint 13 not working

Hello

I am running Gnome 3 on my Mint 13 box, with the gnome-shell-extensions installed. I usually use Cinnamon but I prefer Gnome with the easy switching between workspaces when I am doing a programming exercise. In the Status menu in the top right corner of the screen, the Switch User menu item is unresponsive. I tried to find a solution on Google with little or no luck.

Any ideas, gang ?

Thanks

Clive

Try installing KDE or Lxde as desktops.
Unity has its... issues. I could use harsher language in reference to this but women and children might be on this forum!!!

The procedures for this are on Mint's website if I recall correctly. The download is fairly large.
