Plasma Desktop changes

I have just installed LinuxMint 18 Sarah, KDE version.

The default Plasma Workspace has 2 changes which I hope to be able to change back.

The first is it appears that separate icons, widgets, wallpaper, etc. are no longer supported on different virtual desktops. I will look into Activities to see if that feature has been moved there. I've not used Activities before.

The second is the behavior of the vertical scroll bar. Previously I could click on it for page-down or page-up. Now for the most part clicking on it takes me to an absolute position on the page. Is there a setting for this?

Thanks
Jim
Code:
~ $ dpkg-query -l | grep plasma -
