I think that in KDE, the default action for dragging the folder in the desktop should be popping up a tiny menu with the options to move, copy or symlink. You probably want to symlink it to the desktop, moving may cause some troubles if some scripts or whatever are "expecting" the files to be somewhere else; copying will waste disk space and of course any changes on such files won't affect the original ones, which also may cause some confusion.
You probably can also edit the "shortcut" file with a text editor (or even properties) and, at some point (or somewhere in some tab), there would be the actual command, and in this line you'd add the "url" after "dolphin". Between quotation marks if it has spaces, or with backslashes, "\", "escaping" the spaces.
