Is it my imagination or is the Languages button a UN flag? Regardless, can I change or remove it as I do not need to change the default language of the OS?
Well upon closer examination it seems to me that the icon in question IS the UN flag. And, yes it can be changed. The offending icon is /usr/share/mdm/themes/linuxmint/lang.png. This can be replaced with any other 48x48 pixel icon. Need also to change lang_n.png in the same directory. This is the "pushed" representation of the button. Just name a couple of icon files the same and replace the default files (using root privileges of course).
