Mint 13 Installation grub error

Although I've installed Mint 13 on sde it won't boot, error: file not found, so I ran the bootinfoscript but need some guidance analysing it and determining the appropriate actions. If I could also run Mandriva from sdc, that would be good also. I would appreciate any help.

-----.
=> Windows is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb.
=> Grub Legacy (v0.97) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdc and looks on the
same drive in partition #1 for /boot/grub/stage2 and /boot/grub/menu.lst.
=> Grub2 (v1.99) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdd and looks at sector 1 of
the same hard drive for core.img. core.img is at this location and looks
for (,msdos5)/boot/grub on this drive.

Your bootinfoscript output (which you posted) is incomplete. Generally, boot menus such as grub.cfg and fstab files as well as UUID info is included. If you set sde as first boot priority, it might work as you have Grub installed in the mbr of that drive, the drive on which you indicate you have installed Mint. Either post all the results.txt output or run the script again.

Setting sde as first priority boot results in 'error:file not found'
I didn't include all of the Results.txt due to limited word count on the post, so I'll include the rest of it in this and subsequent replies.

You have quite a lot of Mint entries for Mint 8, 11 and 13 in various locations with a number of different kernels. The only reference I see to Mint 13 is in the grub.cfg file at the bottom of your last post for sde1. Unfortunately, the entry in the grub.cfg file there shows an entry only for your Mint on sdb1. Don't know how that happened. Have you been switching disk attachments? Are you able to boot any of the other versions of Mint? If so, do that and mount sde1 to access the grub.cfg file on that partition and copy the Mint entry from there to your working grub.cfg file. It has the correct uuid so just change the set root= entry from
Quote:
set root='(hd0,msdos1)'
to
Quote:
set root='(hd4,msdos1)'
.

You have a very complicated setup with all the different kernels and versions of Mint. Hopefully, this will work?

Yes I didn't realise that I had so many redundant OS installed and don't know how to remove them, the whole things a bit of a mess. Don't know about switching disk attachments other than changing BIOS priorities and disabling drives in an effort to get Mint 13 running.
The only working OS I have are Windows sda1 and Mint 11 sdc6.

If it makes things easier, all I need is Windows on sda and Mint 11 and 13 on sdc
sdb holds audio recording software and files
sdd holds all my data
sde is a USB Iomega HD which I'll use for back up when I get the current situation resolved.

Because I'm a novice and didn't want to lose my operating Mint 11 on sdc6, I was trying to install Mint 13 on sde to evaluate it.
Apologies for going on at length, I hope this clarifies

You should be able then, to boot Mint 11 on sdc6. From there mount the sde1 partition and open a file manager to navigate to the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file on sde1. Copy the entry for Mint 13 to the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file on sdc6. You need to be root to do this (use sudo) and make sure you label it by clearly putting its menuentry as Mint13 on sde1. Good luck!
