Linux Mint 19.3 Mate Mouse Pointer Size

My name is Keith. I am about 4 days in Linux. Not responding to question, but providing info that seemed hard to find.

In Linux Mint 19.3 Mate to change size of mouse pointer:

Control Center > Appearance > Theme > Customize > Pointer > Mouse Pointer Size Slider after one chooses between Default Pointer or DMZ (Black) or DMZ (White).

Seems like it should be under Control Center > Hardware > Mouse, but perhaps there is some logic I do not understand. I am LOVING Linux - glad I switched.

Thanks for the info, Keith... and WELCOME to LQ!

This isn't really a hardware issue, so maybe a mod will pop in here and move this to the Linux Mint forums where Minty folks can see and make use of the information.

Regards,

~Eric

P.S. I'll report this to a mod so it can get moved. ~E.

Cool Linux Mint 19.3 Mate Mouse Pointer Size

Right click on the desktop and select "change desktop background". Then select Themes>Customize>Pointer and select the pointer you want. Increase pointer size with the slider at the bottom and you are done. I did it in Mint MATE 19.3 with no problems. Hope this helps.

Newbie Best Mint Distro?

I have a MS Surface Pro 2 - not a powerhouse, so I installed 19.3 MATE. I am used to the Wi-Fi waves icon in the lower right task bar. Well, MATE does NOT have that feature. I figured out how to connect to Wi-Fi hotspot in MATE, BUT when I switched hotspots MATE did not even see the new hotspot, though packages such as Wi-Fi radar did see the new hotspot. After much frustration, including at the command line, I ended up installing CINNAMON, which has the Wi-Fi waves icon, similar to Win 10. Click on that and every network around is seen and can be connected to. Also, CINNAMON appears not to slow anything down. Hope this helps. Keith
