How To Have Monitor Sleep And Not Require Password To Come On Again.

I am running Mint 17.1 XFCE and this machine is used by the family so I would like the monitor to got to sleep when not used and come on again when the mouse is moved like what happens with Windows. Currently I have the screen go blank however it is still on as you can see a glow. I don't want to give out the password to open the screen since that would give spouse the ability to install software which I would want to remain in control of. I don't want to set up separate user account either.

Un-check the "Lock Screen" options in Menu > Settings > Power Management and Menu > Settings > Screensaver

Thanks for the reply TxLonghorn. I unchecked the "Lock screen" in Screensaver however not in "Power Management" so I will see how that works for me.
