How do I set default directory for xfce-4-terminal? Mint 19.2

I'm trying to change the default directory for xfce4-terminal
but not having success. It opens in the Desktop and I don't
want this because I like to start up in my home folder and it
annoys me to have to "cd .." every time I start it to get to
where I really want to be.
Here's what I've done. I've made a ".config/xfce4/terminal/terminalrc"
in my home folder and it looks like this:
Code:
[Configuration]
BackgroundMode=TERMINAL_BACKGROUND_TRANSPARENT
BackgroundDarkness=0.800000
ColorCursor=#867f81c281c2
ColorPalette=#000000;#cc0000;#4e9a06;#c4a000;#3465a4;#75507b;#06989a;#d3d7cf;#555753;#ef2929;#8ae234;#fce94f;#739fcf;#ad7fa8;#34e2e2;#eeeeec
FontName=Monospace 10
MiscAlwaysShowTabs=FALSE
MiscBell=FALSE
MiscBellUrgent=FALSE
MiscBordersDefault=TRUE
MiscCursorBlinks=FALSE
MiscCursorShape=TERMINAL_CURSOR_SHAPE_BLOCK
MiscDefaultGeometry=150x55+450+0
MiscInheritGeometry=FALSE
MiscMenubarDefault=TRUE
MiscMouseAutohide=FALSE
MiscMouseWheelZoom=TRUE
MiscToolbarDefault=FALSE
MiscConfirmClose=TRUE
MiscCycleTabs=TRUE
MiscTabCloseButtons=TRUE
MiscTabCloseMiddleClick=TRUE
MiscTabPosition=GTK_POS_TOP
MiscHighlightUrls=TRUE
MiscMiddleClickOpensUri=FALSE
MiscCopyOnSelect=FALSE
MiscShowRelaunchDialog=TRUE
MiscRewrapOnResize=TRUE
MiscUseShiftArrowsToScroll=FALSE
MiscSlimTabs=FALSE
MiscNewTabAdjacent=FALSE
MiscDefaultWorkingDir=/home/terry
UseDefaultWorkingDir=TRUE
The MiscDefaultWorkingDir line doesn't work.
even though it's pointing to "/home/terry"
the terminal still opens in "Desktop." I don't
understand this. I know it's picking up this
configuration file because the geometry I've
specified works. Does anybody see what I might
be doing wrong?

Hi.

There's a hidden file called .bashrc in your home directory just add a line in there saying cd /what/directory you want.

Have fun!

PS: I like fortune in mine as well...

Thanks but I finally figured out I could use
a keyboard shortcut so I configured
ctrl-alt-T to run "xfce4-terminal.wrapper"
and now things work the way I want.

I just wanted to say thanks. What you wrote works for me.
I don't know why I didn't think about this. I know about
.bashrc and use it for aliases and a few other things but
didn't think about it in this case.

Thumbs up

You're welcome.

I'll always remember it because it's a must for me to add:
