Error 1962:No OS found. Boot problem(Lenovo C340)

Hi, I covinced my boss to let me install Linux Mint on my work computer, as i use it at home, but ran in to an issue i've not met before and any help would be greatly appreciated.

The PC is a LENOVO C340 running Win8 64bit. I used LinuxMint 17 on a disc. At first it wouldnt even read the disc, but i read if i change 'secure boot' in the security settings in bios, it would let me. This worked.

I then istalled Mint. I choose the first installation type.It seemed to install as normal. I rebooted and change bios boot sequence to HD and took disc out, it then shows 'Error 1962:No operating system found.press any key to repeat boot sequence' . pressing any key showed the error message again.

Luckily when i put disc back in, and boot from that i can use my PC so my boss doesnt know yet.

Its my first post,i hope ive explained well enough, if you need anymore info let me know.

many thanks

If the Lenovo had Windows 8 installed in UEFI mode, then Mint should be installed in UEFI mode.
Instructions for that are here - http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?p=912036
