Trying to install a couple of applets and as far as I know im meant to put them in
Applets.local/share/cinnamon/applets however I couldnt find it so went searching again and found somewhere that you could put them in /usr/share/cinnamon/applets this folder i found so extracted my applets and when i went to copy them in the above folder I get told I cant due to not have permission to write to the destination folder, I find this strange as I am using an admin account. Also having the exact same issue with themes so Im guessing its me doing something wrong.
Im sure there is a very simple solution as to what i am doing wrong but Im currently out of ideas.

Themes are usually downloaded to your home folder where you open them with your theme manager. I'm not sure what "applets" you're talking about, but the same principle should apply. /usr belongs to root and you can't copy anything there unless you're in root terminal or something. The fact that you're an "administrative" account means nothing in that context, it just means you can use sudo. The first account created is in sudoers by design, subsequent accounts are not. Linux is not Windows.
