in a terminal or find it in your application menu. Your current theme should be the one selected there?
Thanks,
I pasted the command into the terminal. That opened the window in the attached pic.
That says the desktop is Linux Mint. Have I read that correctly?

When I go into themes and 'Linux Mint' the only thing is there is another folder - 'cinnamon' It is in that folder I have edited cinnamon.css already, to no effect.

As I said, I've tried restarting my PC, but it has no effect on the notifications position.

After you reboot are your edits to /usr/share/cinnamon/theme/cinnamon.css or elsewhere still there?

You may need to copy it to /home/$USER/.themes

I would look around here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cinnamon.css&t=h_&ia=web

Like I said here &c: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...4/#post6215728
I'm terrible if I don't have the ability to reproduce.

I really do appreciate your persistence with this, but I'm getting too far out of my depth now.
Using it, and understanding how it works are two different things.

I was hoping someone was going to tell me to change the values in one file or point me to a gui. It seems it's nowhere near that simple.
I use my PC all day, but the inside technical knowledge I need to do this is just way beyond me and quite frightening, as I have no idea of what's happening.
I think I'll leave it.
