Switching form XP to Linux, Can a screen print be copied into a Lotus Notes Email?

My Company is switching from Windows XP to Linux. I have a requirement to place a screen print into a Lotus Notes EMAIL. How is this done in Linux? So far the only method is to create a link using SnapShot and then attaching to the Email. This method works but the customer doesn't like to open a link and it requires them to save, read and then delete, which is a hassle for them. Any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried dragging the saved picture on to the body of message. It works a treat in Thunderbird and will most likely work in most other mail clients.

Hi,

Perhaps Lotus notes does not support that option, you should use another mail program such as thunderbird for this purpose and also make sure your screenshots are saved as a .png file. Just sent a test email to my other account with a screenshot using thunderbird and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the info...But using different email software isn't an option. Lotus Notes is the standard adopted by the company I work for. Appreciate the advise. Think I am just going to have to live with it..The Customers will just have to adjust the same way that I will. Thanks again.

Try saving the screen cap as a file, then importing it into the email or, alternatively, opening it into an image viewer and copying and pasting it into the email.

It's been a long time since I used Lotus notes and I don't have access to it now to test this.

I know I am late to the party, but just noticed this question You did not mention the window manager. Gnome and KDE can grab screen prints using "PrintScrn".

But in Lotus Notes you can use menu "File --> Import" to copy a jpg file into the email directly. This does not attach a file but brings the image in. Note, it may be under Edit but the item you want to find is "Import", my memory is fuzzy.
