Recently bought a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757 just to tote around for anything I need to do while traveling. One thing I have noticed, and it's causing me a lot of annoyance, is that whenever I use the touchpad, the cursor moves EXTREMELY slowly. I can move from one corner of the touchpad to the other, and the cursor will move about an inch on the screen. Is there any way that I can speed up the cursor? I've tried going into Preferences > Mouse and increasing the acceleration, but that didn't do anything for me. It's an Alps touchpad.

What if you try a command like this
xset m 3 1
?

Doesn't do a thing. Tried that already.
