Support for a VIA Unichrome IGP

I am getting a laptop next week and I have read about some problems with the video card that comes with it. The computer is an Acer Aspire 1362LC and it has a VIA Unichrome IGP integrated in the VIA K8N800 chipset. I wondered if anyone has any experience with this video card and if you were able to the drivers working. I would really want to be able to use the TV-out in X without having to install Windows. :P

Your best chance is to ask on the Unichrome mailing-list. Main site is here:

Else you may want to check VIA proprietary drivers, even though they're less secure, and work on a limited set of linux distributions. ViaArena forums might give some indications...
