Slackware on Fujitsu Amilo Pi3560 startx error: Fatal Server Error: No Screen Found


Hi there
I've just installed Slackware on my machine but when I try to start the startx I get the error in the name of the thread.

It looks like X couldn't find the right driver for your graphics card. Have you checked "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" to see if you have the right settings? Also, make sure you have run either xorgsetup or xorgconfig if you haven't done so.

I have done that, what is more I had this in mind and i tried checking the driver in conf it was "nv" I tried changeing it to "nvidia" but it gave me another error, I am with Nvidia G240 1GB any other things I have configured Xorg.conf with xorgsetup and all seems ok in the file .

If you installed slackware13.1
Try renaming your xorg.conf to xorg.conf.old (or something)
Then try starting x.

Lots of times a .conf file is not needed for x.

Mine worked without one (but I did need one to add a modeline)
