ohhhhh, i m duhhhh stupid
dude! they don't work for me to
no scroll wheel emulation but i just don't care
what i m after is the hardware manual for my toshiba but before that what is most important to know iz how to get the battery status working.
oh noooo did u have to bring this up? i have a "not-so-important-to-do-list" somewhere
you see the important stuff was to get the nvidia drivers working and be able to play quakeIII and wolfenstein and chromium and other 3d tools (of course) etc. before that was the linksys wireless pcmcia card but that was all very easy.
the camera, a SiPix BlinkII was a bit difficult
now iz the battery (apm or acpi?) patch the kern or recompile? download a canned one... i spend more time trying to get things working on this lapbox than having it help me with my work.
forget the touch pad for know and go for the more painfull stuff. this is where the fun iz
unless u have everything else working.
then u should be teaching here
Everything else works on mine. Wireless was a modprobe prism2pci and install the linux wireless tools. I ran klaptop under kde and it detects my battery and works fine. Video worked with RH9 once I changed the resolution. So there isn't much for me to teach
Originally posted by NiceBloke I'm using RH9 on a Fujitsu Lifebook S6120 everyday at work - without any hassle.
Apart from the gfx chip not being supported yet (no 3D), the only other thing I haven't been able to get working is suspending - but I think I'm going to have to wait for 2.6 kernel for that arn't I?
Hi, NiceBloke, I just managed to installed RH9 on a Fujitsu Lifebook S6120. However, I could not make the wireless work properly. The modem does not work as well. Could you please give me some guidelines on how to make them work? Thank you in advance :-)
I have Redhat 9 installed on a Toshiba 6100 Pro with pentium IV 1.7GHZ, 40GB, 10/100 Ethernet, Modem, Combo CD-R/DVD, External USB Floppy, External 6IN1 USB Card Reader, Epson Stylus Color 880 USB Printer, Creative Labs Extigy (additional soundcard that I use with digital speakers) and I also use a firewire pcmcia card that works great for digital video editing with my Sony TRV-340 camera and Kino editing software for linux. Didn't have any problems except I have yet to get wireless networking to work (not that I really need it though).
This is my work and home laptop - no windows required.
I have a compaq presario 2100 installed with redhat 9 and i am having an incredibly hard time getting it to work. I keep receiving fatal server error: no screen found. Does anyone have any ideas? If so please email me. nreynolds232003@hotmail.com I am a newbie and i would really like to enjoy redhat

Interested: if you are having problems with that laptop, go to www.linux-laptop.net - great resource. Below are the 2 links to pages for your laptop. The top one deals with Fedora Core 1, which is very similar to RH9.
