problems installing Fedora 10 on a T500 Thinkpad
I am trying to install Fedora 10 on a T500 Thinkpad from a CD that I burnt myself (using an ISO image downloaded from the Fedora web site). I saw from previous posts that I first have to disable the switchable graphics on the laptop in the BIOS setup, which I've now done. But when the CD loads, it craps out with the following error message:
mount: wrong fst type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop2,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
Bug in initramfs /init detected. Dropping to a shell. Good luck!
bash: no job control in this shell
bash-3.2# input: TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/serio2/input/input6
The shell just hangs and I can't run any commands (e.g., the suggested dmesg | tail). Has anyone come across this problem? If not, does anyone have some advice about what to try next? Thanks.
