Problem configuring wireless card in laptop

HI everyone,

I am using a laptop which has a wireless card. I have dual booting & the card works fine On Windowsxp. But i am not able to configure the card in linux. I am not getting the driver of the card i am having.

As the laptop is recommened for windowsXp so the Company HP is also not givving me any support for linux drivers. The necessary technical details are given below.

Please help me in finding the driver for the card.

Details:

Linux Distribution-: Slackware 10.0
Laptop Model-: Compaq nx9000
Wirelesscard-: Lan Express IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter

I am new to linux. So any mistakes regretted.

You should search the web for drivers for your card (google your card specs to find out what chipset is in there, that will help you pick the right driver if one exists). If you can't find a driver or if your card isn't supported, you can still try ndiswrapper (ndiswrapper.sf.net) which allows you to plug your Windows drivers into the Linux kernel.

Good luck.
