NEW EDIT: Wait, no. Actually this is maybe weird:
* In the pop shop I can see that NVIDIA drivers 455 are installed.
* In the NVIDIA X server settings it tells me that 440.95.01 is in use.
* and the output of lspi is:
Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 [8086:191b] (rev 06)
Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] HD Graphics 530 [1025:1039]
	Kernel driver in use: i915
	Kernel modules: i915
That does not seem like NVIDIA to me, right?
To see both GPUs on an optimus setup use the command
Code:
lspci -nnv | egrep "VGA|3D"
The nvidia GPU usually will show up as 3D in an optimus config.

Ok, sorry for the very late response, but I wanted to do a bit of testing and I was not too much around during christmas time. So:

@JSB. Hum, I do not really know how can I know that. As there were many of them I assume that it they are not being fixed autmoatically.

@computersavvy. Thanks I could indeed see both with this method.

@all. Well, since the previous messages, I got the computer to freeze only once. And after the hard shut down it did boot normally! Without problem. Not sure why, but it seems fsck fixed it. As said, it happened only once since , so never knows, but for now I would consider the issue solved. I can post again if I get back to the same problem.

Thanks everyone for the effort in helping me. Now I need to open another thread, cause I can't get an external monitor to connect...
