Fedora Core 2 on Evo n610c (video question)

I have upgraded my laptop (Evo n610c) to Fedora Core 2 from Core 1. Everything is working properly except for my display configuration.

Currently the display only provides a "clone" mode that duplicates the screen on the external monitor (Dell P1110). The display driver that it is using is the Radeon driver that matches with the ATI Mobility 7500 that the laptop has.

My question and goal is to try to find a solution to get a split screen mode or (Big Screen or Xinerama) enabled on the laptop so that I can stretch the display accross both screens.

ATI has also just released a linux driver version 3.9.0 that says that it enables this type of functionality. I have tried to install it from the RPM provided and it doesn't install correctly.

Any help here please would be apprecicated.

Thanks

Mark (linux newb)

What about ACPI? have you had success with it? does the fan turns on or does it always stay off?
