Dell Latitude CPi 266 DX with Crystal CS4237B under Suse 9.1

I'm trying to get it to work for ages! Suse seems to provide drivers for this card but I card but they don't work. All i hear are some clicking noises and then nothing anymore. Anyone had success with this soundchip using my system or a similiar one with this chip? 8bit sound would also be enough for me....

I'm using Suse 9.1 with kernel 2.6

ADDED:

I did do searching on this forum and tried everything that's described here but it doesn't work for me.
