My Laptop
Sorry about the title i mean my soon to be doorstop. I have a 500m sporting mandrake 9.2. I wish that someone would the the crap out of the guy that designed the 500m and made the choice of intel graphics. he was a noob.
I have an I8200 that started out with RH7, then 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 8.0, and then RH9. Now I running Fedora. Can someone tell what's the difference between RH9 & Fedora (other than the name...lol). Thinking of going back to RH9.

My friend got him an old dell laptop from ebay for xmas.. I am not sure the current OS he has on it.. I know its winblows somthing.. but maybe I will talk him into putting linux on it.. since he is not planning to do too much with it anyways.. and it would be a great learning experience...
I am. I just tried mandrake and didnt like it to much. So now im installing debian. We will see how we like that :P But as for a question. anybody know how to get their Touch Pad to work on linux. And yes im a Inspiron 8200 owner
Both the Internal stick mouse and the touchpad should work out of the box in debian, configuring a external USB mouse is a diffrent story though. (still not too hard)
I always had this problem, even when running Gentoo for a short time. I'm going backwards to a simple Dist. which is Mandrake 9.2. My question is does anybody know how to configure or a solution to the ACPI problem on Dell Laptops. When the laptop stay on for a few minutes it will just freeze. I now have Mandrake 9.2 installed and still the same problem please help... show me the light.
i've run mandrake 9.2 on my latitude c540 and now i'm trying to set up to dual boot xp and mandrake 9.2 problem is when i plug in ac power or unplug ac power my laptop locks up.
