Bluetooth headset shows up as "serial port" only

Hi everyone,

I have a new laptop (Thinkpad X1 Yoga) that I am setting up with Slackware current. Most things work out of the box but so far I haven't been able to make my bluetooth headset work. I can see it, pair, and connect with blueman-applet, but the headset only shows up as "serial" port. If I get the "Info" from blueman devices, I do see Audio Sink, Headset, and so on listed under different UUIDs, but the connection wizard only gives serial port as option. The headset connects and works with an older linux laptop running Slackware 14.2 (an older Thinkpad X1 Yoga).

UPDATE: The same happens with another bluetooth headset, so it must be a bluetooth misconfiguration.

Thanks for all help!

Stefano

I have gone through the manual setup described here:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth_headset

and now things work. Not sure why blueman-applet did not work, but now it shows the headset correctly.
