ATI IGP 345 Issue
I just installed Mandrake 10.1 on my Sony PCG-K27 notebook. Everything went fine during installation. I had to configure my Graphics card and when I pressed test it showed a screen that seemed to be perfect. It then told me to eject the boot media and reboot. I did this and LILO did everything as expected. When Linux started to boot the status bar reached about 13/16ths of the way done and froze. I tried to load it from the command line and it gave me the message that a FBIon invalid argument or something along those lines and that it unmounted the partitions. It does this everytime I try to load Linux. If anybody has any ideas on what this could be please help. I switch from Windows to Linux for a job I'm doing so this is urgent. Thank you.
Edit:
The error message is fbiopan.display invalid argument. This happens and the boot freezes. The only thing that works ctl alt del.
Edit:
Problem fixed. I had installed the boot loader in root instead of in MBR. Once installed in MBR it booted fine.
