Amilo D and ATI Radeon Mobility 9600

I have just bought an Amilo D 1840 laptop with an ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 graphical card, and installed Fedora. I have however had bad luck with getting the graphical card to work with the ATI driver routines ( I have tried with the latest one, fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.7.0.i386.rpm). The computer hangs badly during the startup. Has anyone got this to work?

Everything does of course work with the generic Vesa driver-but that doesn't give you any use for the graphical card.
