Ok. I'm sorry for neglecting all this aus9.

note the dot. xsession errors can be numerous if your video card driver is not quite right....but we will find out your video card with your model info
---but I am not stopping you from linking to your laptop spec page either
And I did boot up Ubuntu 15.04 from a USB I already had from yesterday. I chose "try Ubuntu without installation"... and it didn't work. Again keyboard and touchpad didn't respond once again.

I cannot provide any logs if after logging in I cannot do anything. I can provide you with screenshots proving that the system is not responding to anything, but other than that I have no idea what I can show you. I am sorry about that.

After 3rd or 4th turn on Debian started experiencing problems: I was getting to the log in panel where I was supposed to put my password in, but there was nowhere to input the password, after a reboot I would get to the password input but keyboard wouldn't work... So I reinstalled it. And then I downloaded Debian 8.3 from the website, used a program to put it on a bootable USB and installed Debian from there thinking that maybe something was wrong with the CD. However, Debian is still not responding. I can log in after a couple of reboots, but I have completely no control over the system.

I'm sorry aus9, can you please tell me what I'm looking for in bios?
According to diagnostics everything works perfectly except for battery, which I know is messed up and doesn't charge more than 27%. Video Card Connection Test and Video Memory Test were both passed and video card from nVidia seems to be perfectly working.

Ok

well lets only discuss bios this post

fact one....you appear to get into your bios so I would suggest your keyboard actually works
---to be anal F2, enter and maybe the arrow keys work, page up and page down

2) you are going into bios because oldtechaa and myself want you to confirm your power setting for holding down the power button is set to 4 seconds. I don't have your bios but you should find it in the power management setting

3) on my old dell...bios is where I can set the boot order for bootable usb/cd etc

4) on my old dell...bios -> power management -> press enter to open a sub-menu but no 4 sec setting here only wake up options

5) Post behaviour -> mouse/touchpad -> disable touchpad // disable when external ps2 mouse inserted // allow both

--------------------usb emulation -> off or on ----if off you can NOT boot any usb device

Please download your manual or look at your motherboard for similar type instructions.

this will assist you in using an usb bootable device to get to logs etc

It is actually 4 seconds. That would explain why it seemed like there is something wrong

They are both enabled

There is USB configuration and the option "Enable boot Support" is on

Ok hmm

did any of the live cds/usb have an auto login....so you did not need to type guest or whatever the pw was?
----so you could see a mouse prompt on the screen?

2) allend mentions video card issues for slackware....but most live cds/usb offer a menu option for basic VGA settings,
not sure if they were offered for ubuntu.

can you try each live cd/usb you have to see if they offer this....I pretty sure UBCD defaults to basic VGA.
