Please Set Kernel Path WadWifi

Please Help I am a semi-newbie trying to install MadWifi on Debian 2.6.16-2-686. I have downloaded MadWifi drivers and unpacked them. When I try make I get the error message -- "/lib/modules/2.6.16-2-686/buid is Missing. Please set kernel path Stop." I have little experience compiling a kernel, when I browse /lib/modules/2.6.16-2-686 there is no build directory just a kernel directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

The 'build' directory is a symbolic link to kernel sources (the kernel that was used to build the modules you have in that dir). If you have the sources, just not the link, make it and it should work. If you don't have the sources, you need to install them.

Now you need a symbolic link between the kernel source directory and /lib/modules/2.6.16-2-686/buid

ln -s /usr/src/kernel-source-2.x.y /lib/modules/2.x.y-z-arch/build

you basically just create a shortcut pointing to your source and name it build
