Better than make and model of computer are the components comprising it. From a live media Linux boot, input/output from inxi -Faz should provide all we need to know. Hopefully, Mageia and/or Mint media OP has include inxi. If not, maybe we can get him to chroot into the installed system to get to it, and maybe even fix it so he can boot normally.

Ok. When i can, ill be happy to run that. It wont hurt to play around, though the boot flag worked. I know just a little about that command, that it does hardware representation stuff. Maybe tuesday?
