"lspci" command - parse error


Im getting a parse error while executing lspci command as follows

lspci : parse error : (read only - 1 times)

please explain this...

please give more detail, e.g., are you simply running

or using any parameters?

and, what distro (kernel version, hardware, etc...)

Are you running the command as root? Some of the things lspci access are restricted to root only.

I used "lspci -x"... Kernel 2.4, Redhat 7.2, Intel i386 arch.

Yes... I did it in root only... It worked for the first time after boot. Later it's showing error.

lspci : proc : parse error : (read only - 1 times)

run

lspci -xn

if it works, then the problem is in the PCI ID list (at my box /usr/share/pci.ids)

Check it or download new one.
