Kernel 4.11.4 ubuntu repo "i/o scheduler not found bfq" during boot up
Hi! Everyone
I successfully install and run kernel 4.11.4 from the ubuntu kernel repo, in my linux mint 18.1 Serena. During boot up the only error that comes up or displays is something "i/o scheduler not found bfq". I do have the latest linux mint kernel which is 4.10.0-22 which do not give this error. Any ideas? Thanks for your time and help in advance.
Ignore is my guess. Guess you could try the low latency kernel also if you need it.
Always go through the changes file when you decide to update. May have to look at all change files from current stable up each version till .3 and .4
Okay, from the information links, seems like I will have to wait until kernel version 4.12 to resolved this for sure. The only thing is the mint 18.1 "Serena" kernel 4.10.0-22 does not have this problem/error. I like BFQ scheduler, it makes my pc really responsible and performs better. Thanks for your time and help.
Somebody was maintaining a patch set for BFQ - maybe they forgot about it with 4.12 on the horizon.
The 4.12 code is pretty limited - just blk-mq devices. It doesn't appear as an option for my standard hard disk (Fedora, not Ubuntu BTW).

Reason: Fedora comment
Okay, I'm trying to stay within stable releases. So, I'll try with version 4.12 when, it comes up. Hopefully they remember to put it in then. Thanks for your time and help.
