How to get involved with the kernel development as a beginner

Hi,

Im a beginner to linux kernel development and I have been looking in to the kernel code for some time now and always wanted to get involved with the development/maintenance of the linux kernel.
I have tried the kernel janitor project (http://kernelnewbies.org/KernelJanitors) but it seems not functioning.
Does anyone know such a projet/forum where beginner people who wants to get involved with the kernel development get together and share their ideas.

Thanks.
Reg.

I think with many such things, you won't necessarily see the criteria written down, but you'll know when you're in. As with many things, the best way to get in is to know someone who is an active kernel contributor.

Fundamentally, one submits changes to the kernel. These are then discussed in the kernel community, and then approved or rejected.

I'd start here for more info:
http://kernel.org
