How can i find my display is using

Hi,
How can i find my display is using whether hardware cursor or software cursor. If the hardware cursor is half can i draw a software cursor and move over the display.
I heard that if the display driver doesnot support the cursor we can't able to draw the cursor. Please inform me about this very urgent.
I software cursor can be drawn then where can i find the useful manual or code for that.
I am using fedora core 2.6.9 kernel.

I've never heard of a hardware cursor. As far as I know, cursors are always rendered in software. It's only more complicated things such as 3-D renderings that are rendered in hardware, where there is a significant speed advantage, for example using OpenGL.

HTH.

David

Ditto the above post. There is no hardware cursor.
