Disable RFID Reader behaving as a keyboard!
So I'm planning to put an electronic latch on the door to the shed with RFID access, yeah I know - to much time on my hands...
So here I am, mucking around with a new USB RFID reader, which emulates a HID Keyboard... The plan was to write a small daemon which listens to the appropriate /dev/input/eventX device for the RFID serial and looks up the serial in a MySQL table, and the activates then door solenoid if the serial is found.
That Easy? Yes it should be, apart from the fact that I can't stop the damn thing outputting the RFID codes to the console of the linux box (and ends up trying to log in as 0000004124414 for example.)
Using Ubuntu 11.04 x64
Device:
I: Bus=0003 Vendor=0419 Product=0912 Version=0100
N: Name="NewRoad Sem. NewRoad System PS2 Interface"
P: Phys=usb-0000:00:1d.2-2/input0
S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.2/usb4/4-2/4-2:1.0/input/input5
U: Uniq=
H: Handlers=sysrq kbd mouse1 event5
B: PROP=0
B: EV=120017
B: KEY=70000 0 0 e080ffdf01cfffff fffffffffffffffe
B: REL=103
B: MSC=10
B: LED=1f
I'm pretty sure the handler "kbd" is the culprit, but I have NFI on how to remove it as a handler from this device?
Help?
